Artistic swimming has traditionally been perceived as a sport that values sameness. Given the vast diaspora that is east end Toronto / Scarborough, artistic swimming isn’t representative of the communities in which we serve. In order to increase diversity in our sport, we must remove barriers to access which includes (and is not limited to): knowledge, recruitment, access and financial barriers.
