Volunteer Opportunities

Athlete and family involvement is what strengthens our club! Whether it is supporting a club run event or competition, becoming an official, joining one of our working committees, or supporting the direction of the club through the Board of Directors, volunteers are essential to Remix Artistic Swimming Club.

Coach In Training Program

If you are interested in coaching in the future or are looking to give back to your sport volunteering coaching may be the thing for you! Coaches in Training are assigned to experienced coaches where they have the opportunity to work with them and receive feedback while assisting in developing young athletes. Coaches in Training benefit from receiving School Volunteer Hours, mentoring and leadership experience.

Events and Competitions

Over the course of each season Remix may host events including Watershows and Competitions that require the support of volunteers. Positions may include recording scores on the score sheet, timing a routine, running the music or video system, marshalling athletes, or being an announcer. We will support you in learning whatever role you decide to take on and you’ll get one of the best seats in the house!

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is elected by Remix’s members each year at its Annual General Meeting. The Board oversees the affairs of the organization and ensures the organization can effectively carry out its mission. Remix’s Directors are not representatives of particular teams or programs of the club, but rather collectively make decisions for the good of the whole organization. A call for nominations is held each year several months prior to the Annual General Meeting.

Working Committees

Remix has volunteer committees that help to set the direction for specific aspects of our club including fundraising. Most often, Committees meet online so participation can happen from anywhere! Contact us to find out about our current committees and see how you would like to get involved.

Officials

Officials – judges and referees – are trained and certified to officiate at artistic swimming competitions. Each year Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) holds at least one Level 1 Officials Course, a multi-day classroom and pool deck training program for those interested in becoming a referee of judge.
